About Us

Introduction

Home of Hope is a grassroots Christian organization based in Abbottabad KPK, Pakistan. Providing direct care and support to orphans, persecuted and other vulnerable children in Pakistan caught up in the crisis, extreme poverty, and neglected.

In the aftermath of the devastating 2005 earthquake that struck northern Pakistan, thousands of children tragically lost their families and became orphans. While numerous Muslim madrassas, shelter homes, and families opened their doors to care for these children, there was a glaring absence of safe spaces for Christian children where they could be cared for in a Christian manner.

In response to this critical need, Miss Elizebeth James, the Chairperson and Founder of Home of Hope, felt a deep calling to help. With compassion and dedication, she established the orphanage to provide a loving, nurturing environment where Christian children could receive proper care, education, and spiritual guidance.

Since 2008, Home of Hope has assisted many of the most vulnerable Christian children in Pakistan. Who would otherwise have had no place to go. However its primary focus is the care and protection of children. HOH works hard to provide a loving home for every child in its care; working diligently to promote family relationships and impart a spirit of responsibility in every member of the organization.

Need

Pakistan is an Islamic state here is 96% people are majority (Muslims), among rest of the 4 % minority population Christians are only 1.5% about 2.5 millions. Pakistan’s 2.5 million Christians being attacked or facing persecution under the country’s blasphemy laws, forced conversion to Islam, religious discrimination in educational and charity Institutes and are treated as ‘unclean’ by society in general.

An estimated 700 Christian women and girls are abducted every year and often forced to marry Muslim men. If their families complain, they are accused of harassing the ‘voluntarily converted’ girl. Christians face discrimination in work and education, and jobs that are considered ‘unclean’ are officially reserved for Christians.

If we talk about Christian orphans in Pakistan. There are many Orphanages and welfare Institutes in Pakistan, but there is no specific home or Institute for Christian orphans in Pakistan. There is no arrangement for the spiritual caring and education of the Christian child. The child has to participate in Muslims rituals and afterward starts to perform their prayers. Soon he was converted to Islam. If the child doesn’t follow their rules he or she has to leave that home. Then they have no other option to live in the streets where these children were hacked by the terrorists, criminals, sexual abuse and child tracking.

Government has a charity program of Biat-ul-mal but its funds are generated through zakat (religious charity ritual of Islam) which is applicable only for Muslims. Christian orphans also don’t have access to this Institute for support. Government has allocated minority funds which are only designated for the religious worship places of the all minorities living in Pakistan which is distributed as per need for construction and renovation purpose.
Keeping in view the all situation God put this burden in my heart to feed, shelter and educate orphans, persecuted and vulnerable Christian Children, give them Hope and help them reach their God-given Potential.
